A zero emissions Festival thanks to ENEL This year ENEL, always one of the major players in the Festival, will be present with a new important environmental project: to reduce CO2 emissions generated by the event. The 2008 edition will be zero emissions thanks to some important forestry work that will use photosynthesis to absorb greenhouse gasses and compensate or “neutralize” those emissions that are impossible to prevent, amounting to around 1,685 tons of CO2. For that purpose ENEL, in collaboration with AzzeroCO2, will plant 1,800 trees, in parks located in Piedmont, Lombardy and Emilia Romagna. This is another example of good practice which confirms the commitment of the company to fostering sustainable development. Every day ENEL invests in research and employs its best resources to generate and distribute energy in full respect of the environment. This challenge requires an effort in all areas, not only industry, in order to ensure a better future for generations to come.
